End Note(s)
Moderation(s) 2012–2014
Over the course of two years, artist and writer Heman Chong invited fellow artists, curators, and writers to discuss various formats of inhabitation, production, and exhibition making on the occasion of his long-term project Moderation(s) at Witte de With. Essays were viewed as works of fiction, language as image, sculpture as situation. An extension of this approach, the publication End Note(s) focuses on interpretations and reflections on what has been said and what has been done.
We developed a page layout that is quiet and simple featuring a different column width per page. The typography of the main text set at an accommodating size is minimal, yet easy to read. The majority of images are used informative rather than aesthetically, thereby acting merely as a footnote. The supple and tactile papers used for the interior and the cover feel as an invitation to browse backwards and forwards through the book.
