Aggregate 2022
The publication marks two years of activity from the second cohort of artists participating in the Freelands Artist Programme (2019–21) and brings together the practices of 21 artists. Each artist put forward an author to write about their distinctive practices.
Aggregate 2022 also includes material from the Freelands Artist Programme Symposium 2020: an essay by George Vasey, a transcript of a talk between artist Jacqueline Donachie and Alistair Hudson and a conversation between the four partner organisations: g39, Cardiff; PS2, Belfast; Site Gallery, Sheffield; Talbot Rice Gallery, Edinburgh.
The design introduces moments of calmness throughout the book. These moments feature rasterized transient formations. The reflection of the silver ink on the coated duplex board plays with the elusiveness of the image. An intermission of radiating yellow ties together the center pages with the spine creating a visual connection between the inside and the outside.
