Kasper Bosmans
In light of Witte de With’s twenty-fifth anniversary artist Kasper Bosmans was invited to create work based on the institution’s archives. His research began with a close reading of 20+ Years Witte de With, an anthology published by the institution that lists all exhibitions and other projects between 1990 and 2011. Adding his own remarks, scribbles and critical notes, and inserting photographs from Asger Jorn’s collection of 10,000 Years of Nordic Folk Art, the artist opened up the narrative to new interpretations.
Kasper Bosmans gave us his annotated version of the original book; and we decided together to fully reproduce it in its form — on half the size, in black and white, and bound as a softback.
